You can be arrested for DUI in the state of Florida even if you haven’t been drinking. The common, you know, misconception is that the DUI is drunk driving, but under the, in the laws in the state of Florida, you can be convicted of DUI if you are under the influence of, certainly, alcohol or if you’re under the influence of a chemical or controlled substance. So whether it be illegal drugs or prescription drugs, if you take them in a non-prescribed manner, or if you take them and you are impaired by those chemical or controlled substances, you can still be prosecuted and convicted of DUI in the state of Florida.
