David Cassidy Florida DUI Arrest!
David Cassidy, a star of “The Patridge Family” TV series in the 1970s, was arrested Wednesday night after a trooper spotted his car moving erratically on Florida’s Turnpike in St. Lucie County, according to an arrest report.
He was driving south on the Turnpike near the Okeechobee Road (State Road 70, Fort Pierce) exit when the trooper first noticed Cassidy’s car weaving briefly run off road, then back onto the outside lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
After driving past the exit, Cassidy’s car veered off the road again and ran over the highway’s rumple strip. The trooper stopped Cassidy’s car after he cut off another car, causing the driver to stop abruptly, according to the report.
The trooper noted he smelled alcohol on Cassidy’s breath and that he appeared nervous as he tried to fetch his driver’s license and insurance papers,
Breath tests measured Cassidy’s blood-alcohol content at 0.139 and 0.141 — greater than the 0.08 legal limit. Cassidy also failed several road-side sobriety tests, including walking in a straight line, the report states.
