If I am stopped while driving in Florida and the police officer asks me to do field sobriety tests, do I have to do them?

You are absolutely not required to do field squad exercises in the state of Florida. Field squad exercises involve typically standing on one leg, walking heel to toe on a straight line, and that has absolutely nothing to do with your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. When you’re asked to get your driver’s license they don’t make you stand on one leg, they don’t make you walk in a heel to toe fashion, so these exercises are not designed to see whether or not you can safely operate the motor vehicle or not. So it’s completely up to you whether or not you want to participate in these exercises or not.
